This page is for members of the British Science Association’s Engage Teacher Network, a community of teachers in schools in challenging circumstances who share ideas, access inspiring resources and apply for grants to help bring science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) to life for all young people.

Engage funding
There are two types of Engage funding: Engage Grants and Engage Simply CREST. The funding is to help schools in challenging circumstances run CREST Awards with young people from backgrounds underrepresented in STEM.
You can apply for up to £350 of grant money plus a voucher to cover £350 of CREST Award fees.
Priority offers
We run exclusive projects and partnership offers for the Engage community throughout the academic year to help teachers inspire young people who are underrepresented in STEM.
This includes CREST kit boxes, which contain all the equipment and resources a teacher needs to run eight Star or SuperStar activities for every member of their class to earn a CREST Award and certificate.

Engage Teacher Conference
An occasion for teachers to connect and share their wealth of experience, ideas, and best practice for engaging young people most often underrepresented in STEM.
Join online sessions to hear from teachers, education experts and industry specialists. Completely free for all members of the Engage Teacher Network.
You can also catch up on sessions from previous conferences: there are summaries, presenter slides, and session recordings to watch.
British Science Week funding
New funding for the 2026/2027 academic year provides support for schools to organise activities – for British Science Week and beyond – for young people to engage with the concepts, skills and people behind research and innovation.
The funding is part of a wider six-year programme to engage the public with research and innovation across the UK. Funded by UKRI and delivered by the British Science Association, this new initiative will celebrate the full breadth of UK research and innovation and the contribution it makes to improving lives and livelihoods.
You can apply for a £600 Curiosity Grant or an Explore Kit Box (with the equipment and printed resources to run eight hands-on science challenges).
