Engage Teacher Network members area
This page is for members of the British Science Association’s Engage Teacher Network, a community of teachers in schools in challenging circumstances who share ideas, access inspiring resources and apply for grants to help bring science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) to life for all young people.
Exclusive benefits for members
Welcome to your members area. We aim to provide teachers with the support, tools and funding they need to give students equitable opportunities to lead quality investigations that will help them explore the possibilities of science and why it matters to them.
See below what's available - all for free - as a member of the Engage community:

Engage funding
There are two types of Engage funding: Engage Grants and Engage Simply CREST. The funding is to help schools in challenging circumstances run CREST Awards with young people from backgrounds underrepresented in STEM.
You can apply for up to £350 of grant money plus a voucher to cover £350 of CREST Award fees.
Already received an Engage Grant or Engage Simply CREST? Go to the recipients page for information about your funding:
Priority offers
We run exclusive projects and partnership offers for the Engage community throughout the academic year to help teachers inspire young people who are underrepresented in STEM.
This includes CREST kit boxes, which contain all the equipment and resources a teacher needs to run eight Star or SuperStar activities for every member of their class to earn a CREST Award and certificate.

Engage Teacher Conference
An occasion for teachers to connect and share their wealth of experience, ideas, and best practice for engaging young people most often underrepresented in STEM.
Join online sessions to hear from teachers, education experts and industry specialists. Completely free for all members of the Engage Teacher Network.
You can also catch up on sessions from previous conferences: there are summaries, presenter slides, and session recordings to watch.
Kick Start Grants

Kick Start Grants provide funding to help schools in challenging circumstances organise their own activities and events during British Science Week.
Usually opened in autumn, the grant scheme aims to engage children who might not otherwise choose to participate in science, and to promote cross-curricular learning.
