Thanks to support from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), Engage is free for all teachers in schools in challenging circumstances.

Who can join?
The Engage Teacher Network is for teachers working schools in challenging circumstances.
To join you must work in a school that:
1. Is state-funded, not academically selective, and is in the UK.
Registered Independent Special Schools and Alternative Provision settings that receive local authority funding for pupil places are also eligible.
2. Meets at least one of the following criteria
- A minimum of 30% of students are eligible for free school meals (FSM)* or equivalent.
*Eligibility outside of a universal free school meal policy.
In Scotland in the equivalent is SIMD quintile 1. In England Pupil Premium may be used as an equivalent. - A minimum of 30% of pupils are from ethnic minority backgrounds.
Ethnic minority backgrounds include all pupils who don’t self-describe as White British. It includes Irish, except in Northern Ireland. - The school is based in a remote and rural location.
Remote and rural schools are in postcodes listed as ‘rural’ under the Government’s Rural Urban classification system. Look up your school’s classification here.
