Worldwide Washing

Award Level Bronze

You can use these projects to enter the Youth Grand Challenges competition. This resource includes three project ideas on the theme of sanitation, hygiene and infectious diseases. This resource has been produced by Practical Action, in partnership with the CREST Awards scheme.

‘Dirt Detectives’ is a research project: Students are challenged to think about what causes people to become sick, and to investigate whether effective hand washing could prevent some of these diseases.

‘Soap or Nope’ is a practical project: Students consider different hand cleaning products and techniques, and test and compare the effectiveness of different hand washing products

‘Clean Communications’ is a communication project: Students think about how to communicate important ideas about health and hygiene in a memorable and fun way.
