In the Get Cracking Physics Tournament run by Weizmann UK, students work in teams to design and build a safe with two locking mechanisms based on physics principles. At the UK tournament, teams swap and attempt to crack each other’s safes, solving the physics riddles which are keeping them locked. Each team has to be able to open their own safe in under 5 minutes but need to keep their opponents challenged for at least 10 minutes.
The three winning teams from the UK competition receive travel grants to enable them to participate in the International Shalhevet Frerier Tournament at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel where they compete against teams from across the world and spend 4 days exploring the amazing campus.
How to achieve a CREST Silver Award
Students will need to do 30+ hours of project work and complete a CREST Silver student profile.
You will need to complete the CREST registration form and send it to your local coordinator to enter students for the CREST Silver Award.
