These CREST Star activities have been adapted for students with special educational needs (SEN). The activities use Widgit Symbols to help learners with cognitive learning difficulties, who have difficulty following instructions given purely in text or remembering a series of instructions.
In these activities, students investigate what affects objects sliding down a slope, and investigate landslides and avalanches.
29,000 plastic yellow ducks, blue turtles and green frogs broke free from a cargo ship 15 years ago and have floated halfway around the world. Children will imagine finding some of these plastic toys washed up on the beach.
Children will investigate which foods are sour and which are sweet. They will discuss whether the miracle berry (which turns sour tastes to sweet) is a good thing.
