Making the most of CREST Awards
CREST Awards are can be used together with a range of other activities, to maximise the recognition and reward for the effort students put in.
- You can count it towards your Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Skills section at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels
- You can achieve a CREST Gold Award for Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) work in science, technology, engineering or maths
- You can use your CREST project to enter a national competition such as the Big Bang Competition
- Children’s University: a CREST Award is also validated towards the Children’s University Passport to Learning
You can make the most of the skills and experiences you have gained through your CREST Award to help you stand out from the crowd. When you’re applying for university, for an apprenticeship or for a job, you can use CREST to enhance your application – they’re well regarded, high-quality and a tangible recognition of success.
My Stem Club were assessed for their Bronze Award and had so much pride when they got it! The assessor was impressed at the skills they had learned in communication and facing challenges. The whole experience is so valuable!
It’s helped the self-esteem for some low achievers for whom it is their major achievement in school.
