CREST SuperStar Awards

Launched in 2007, CREST SuperStar supports children to solve real life STEM challenges through practical investigation and discussion. 

CREST SuperStar Awards are usually completed by 7 to 11 year olds. The awards can be run in schools, clubs, or at home.

CREST SuperStar challenges give children the chance to participate in hands-on science through enquiry-based learning

How to run CREST SuperStar: 

1. Sign up for a free CREST account online.

2. Download and print the CREST SuperStar passport for your group.

3. Complete any eight SuperStar challenges from our resource bank* – for each completed challenge either give students a sticker for their passport or encourage them to draw a picture.

4. When your class has filled all eight challenge spaces in their passport log in to your CREST account and tell us which challenges you have completed.

5. Once you pay the per student entry fee you will receive a CREST SuperStar certificate and iron on badge for each participating child in the post within 2 to 3 weeks. 

*Resources are designed so that you don’t need to be a teacher or have a science background to run them. Each challenge is designed to be 45min-1hr long and comes with an activity card for the children and an organiser’s card for educators.

SEN students

The following SuperStar challenges have been adapted for students with special educational needs (SEN).

The activity sheets use Widgit symbols to help learners with cognitive learning difficulties, who have difficulty following instructions given purely in text or remembering a series of instructions.
