You can use these projects to enter the Youth Grand Challenges competition. This resource includes three project ideas on the theme of protection and prevention from infectious diseases.This resource has been produced by 4Science, in partnership with the CREST Awards scheme.

‘Mosquitoes and Disease’ is a research project: Students are challenged to think about which diseases are spread by mosquitoes, how they are spread, what can be done to control the spread, and what treatments are available for people who contract the diseases.

‘Food Poisoning’ is a practical projectStudents are challenged to think about the symptoms of food poisoning, the microbes that cause it, and the best way to stop the spread of these microbes.

‘Protect Yourself’  is a communication project: Students are challenged to think about how to protect themselves from illness when travelling abroad, why there is a choice of medicines for the same illness, and how useful insect repellents are.
